Scholarships

 

Qualified associate attorneys are encouraged to seek higher formal learning, and SSEK provides full scholarships for overseas LLM degrees. For example, in 2009/2010, our associate Lasma Simbolon earned her LLM at Northwestern University in Chicago, and our associate Fahrul S. Yusuf (Ilul) earned his LLM at University of Chicago.

 

In addition to the above scholarship program, every year SSEK sends one associate attorney to a six-week course at the Academy of American and International Law in Dallas, Texas. This is an opportunity to study international business transactions and attracts participants from more than 25 countries.

 

Internships

 

Recent or upcoming university law graduates are encouraged to apply to our
Law Intern (Magang) Program. SSEK interns work on client business under the close supervision of our attorneys. You will work for six months at SSEK on real client work, and this may lead to a formal offer of employment.

 

Interns are also encouraged to participate in our Focus Group Program and all our in-house Continuing Legal Education and English for Lawyers Programs.

      Rusmaini's Story

       

      After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia in 1992, RusmainiLenggogeni joined SSEK as one of our first associate lawyers.

      In 1994 SSEK sponsored Rusmaini to attend the Academy of American and International Law, Dallas in 1994 - starting an annual tradition that continues to this day.

       

      Rusmaini also pioneered SSEK's scholarship program, and obtained an LL.M. in International Business Studies from the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington, D.C. in 1998. Today, Rusmaini is a partner of SSEK, specializing in M&A and Capital Markets transactions, and is an active member of SSEK's management.
