Dewi Savitri Reni
In 2005, Vitri received her LL.B. from Universitas Indonesia where she was awarded the Honor for Leading Student from both the Faculty of Law and the University. In 2007, Vitri was awarded the Fulbright scholarship to study law at UC Berkeley where she obtained an LL.M in 2008. Her areas of practice include all aspects of corporate law, intellectual property law and civil litigation.
Vitri started her career as a defense attorney at one of the most prestigious litigation law firm in Jakarta. There, she defended high profile clients, among others, Prada (trademark infringement), the former Prime Minister of East Timor, Mari Alkatiri (conspiracy to murder), Tommy Soeharto (banking) and Marubeni Corporation (torts). After completing her LL.M studies, Vitri worked for an intellectual property law firm in Houston.
Vitri has received numerous awards for her outstanding advocacy. For two consecutive years, she and her team won the National Championship of the Philip C. Jessup Competition, the largest and the most prestigious international law moot court competition in the world. She was the speaker representing Indonesia at the international rounds of the Jessup Competition held in Washington, D.C., USA, where she managed to be listed as Number 20 in the Top 100 Best Oralists.
Vitri and her team also won the Alona E. Evans for Fifth-Placed Best Memorial and the Octa-Finalist Award at the very same competition. Due to her accomplishment, Vitri was nominated for the Hewlett-Packard Indonesian Youth Leadership Award in 2005. Vitri regularly gives presentations at the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) and at the An-Najah Foundation.
In her spare time, she writes law articles, which had been published in: Jakarta Post, International Law Bulletin, Hukumonline.com, NYU.com and HG.org. She is admitted to practice law in Indonesia and New York and joined Soewito Suhardiman Eddymurthy Kardono in 2009.
