Zhafira Athirah Loebis
Zhafira received her Bachelor of Law degree (S.H) from the University of Indonesia in 2008. She was an active member of the Asian Law Students' Association and was the manager of the ALSA English Debating Club.
She then pursued her studies at Columbia University, New York, and in 2011, earned her Master of Laws degree (LL.M) in corporate and securities law. During her time in New York City, other than participating in Columbia Law School activities, she was an active member of the Indonesian Columbia Students' Association and was active in promoting Indonesian culture in NYC. She enjoyed spending her free time oil painting at one of the art studios in New York City.
In 2007, she volunteered at the Indonesian Legal Aid Institute (Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Indonesia/YLBHI) where she was involved in pro-bono litigation and judicial review cases, legal seminars and researches.
Prior to joining SSEK, Zhafira worked at a law firm in Jakarta where she was involved in various transactions in the fields of capital market, private power, M&A and mining law. She was also a researcher for a book published by the firm titled "Foreign Direct Investment in Indonesia: an Update".
She is a member of the Presidents Youth Organization, and is currently involved in managing an orphanage with an average of 70 orphans at any one time by the name of Hidayatullah, which is housed in one of her family homes in Jakarta.
She speaks Indonesian, English, and enjoys painting, music and traveling.
Zhafira passed the Bar Exam held by PERADI in 2010. Her practice areas include capital markets, mining law, M&A and general corporate and commercial law
