Greita Anggraeni earned her Bachelor of Laws in 2016 from the University of Indonesia. Greita joined SSEK that same year, after having previously interned at SSEK and another prominent law firm in Jakarta.
Since joining SSEK, Greita has played a significant role in various projects, focusing on M&A transactions, foreign investment, trade and real property. She has represented Fortune 500 and Forbes Global clients, including General Electric, Microsoft, FedEx, Nissan Motors, Mitsubishi Estate, Xiaomi, and Ping An Insurance Group.
Greita has been involved in numerous high-profile transactions and investment projects, including Didi Chuxing’s investment in Grab, the acquisition by Macquarie Capital of a portfolio of non-performing loans from Bank Permata, the structuring and establishment by MRT Jakarta of a transit-oriented development subsidiary, and the acquisition of an upstream oil and gas company operating a PSC block in Indonesia.
She was part of the teams that assisted General Electric in connection with the US$3.25 billion acquisition by global private equity firm Advent International of GE’s Distributed Power business and Wabtec Corporation’s US$11 billion acquisition of GE’s Transportation business.
In the financial technology sector, Greita was the lead associate in the SSEK team acting as Indonesian counsel to Binance, the biggest crypto currency exchange operator in the world by volume, in its acquisition of TokoCrypto, one of the leading Indonesian crypto assets trader companies. She acted as Indonesian counsel in an investment project in the peer-to-peer lending sector involving Lufax, one of China’s largest fintech companies backed by one of the most valuable insurance brands, Ping An Group.
Greita is also involved in the real property sector. She was the lead associate in the successful acquisition by Ovolo Hotels, an award-winning luxury boutique hotel group, of a resort hotel owned by SC Capital Partners in Bali. This was Ovolo’s first expansion into the Southeast Asia market. Greita was also the lead associate in various acquisitions by property giant China Fortune Land Development (CFLD) of land assets owned by Alam Sutera and Agung Podomoro Land Group.
Greita is a frequent participant and speaker in workshops and seminars on the Indonesian legal sector and investing and doing business in the country. Greita was a featured speaker at the 2020 Indonesia – Japan Trade & Investment Webinar, alongside the Indonesian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Charges d’Affaires ad interim of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, the Director of Bilateral Trade Negotiation at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, and the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board’s Director of Regional Promotion, among others.
In 2019, Greita was invited to speak at a seminar in Malaysia organized by the Malaysian Association of Bumiputera ICT Industry and Entrepreneurs, an association of emerging Malaysian start-ups and creative industries, to decipher Indonesia’s legal landscape for cross-border deals by Malaysian business players.
At university, Greita was active in international moot court competitions. Her team represented Indonesia in 2014 and 2015 at the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, in Washington, DC. She also represented the University of Indonesia at the 2016 International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot, in the United Kingdom.
