SSEK Hosts AIEN Asia Chapter Discussion on Indonesia’s Gas Equation
2 October 2026

SSEK Law Firm recently hosted the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN) Asia Chapter discussion, “Balancing Indonesia’s Gas Equation: Supply, Security and Regional Markets,” in Jakarta.

The event opened with remarks from SSEK Founding Partner Ira A. Eddymurthy, who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration across Indonesia’s energy sector.

The keynote address was delivered by Aldy Amir, Head of the Division of Oil and Gas Prospectivity and Upstream Data at SKK Migas, who provided insights into Indonesia’s upstream oil and gas outlook and the evolving opportunities and challenges facing the sector.

SSEK Partner Fransiscus Rodyanto moderated a panel discussion that brought together perspectives from Kofah Baskoro of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi and Prateek Pandey of Rystad Energy.

The event was a full house, with the venue filled to capacity, bringing together a diverse audience of professionals from across Indonesia’s oil and gas and legal sectors. The discussion explored Indonesia’s evolving gas supply and demand outlook, energy security, gas pricing and infrastructure, investment in new and marginal fields, cross-border developments, and the balance between domestic gas allocation and exports.

The Q&A session provided an opportunity for participants to raise questions and exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing Indonesia’s gas industry.

SSEK thanks AIEN, our distinguished keynote speaker and panelists, and all participants for contributing to an insightful and substantive discussion. We look forward to continuing to support meaningful dialogue on Indonesia’s energy sector and its role in regional markets.
