Ira and Fahrul discussed the latest trends, opportunities, challenges and regulatory developments affecting insurance M&A in Indonesia.

Michael S. Carl, an international legal adviser at SSEK Indonesian Legal Consultants, will be a featured speaker at the 3rd Annual Smelting & Processing Summit being held May 11-12 in Jakarta.
Michael will discuss the Minerals Refinery Investment Environment in Indonesia. He will touch on topics including domestic mineral processing and refinery activities, the raw ore export ban, the draft new Mining Law, foreign shareholding limitations and divestment requirements, and land acquisition. His session is scheduled for Thursday, May 12.

The conference was attended by policy makers, regulators, members of the judiciary, and top leaders from the business and legal communities from the Asia Pacific, the United States and the United Kingdom. Speakers explored the challenges and opportunities of the legal convergence in Asia, and discussed cross-border trade practices and regulatory mechanisms.

Syahdan joined SSEK in early 2005. He received his Bachelor of Laws in economic law from the University of Indonesia in 2005 and earned his Master of Laws in 2009 from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi).
