Michael S. Carl, a senior foreign legal advisor at SSEK Indonesian Legal Consultants, was a featured speaker at the recent IBA Asia-Pacific Regional Conference in Tokyo.
Michael was part of the session on “Investing and Financing in Property and Infrastructure Projects in the Asia-Pacific Region, From Both an Investor’s and Target’s Perspective.”
The session looked at cross-border investment transactions in the real estate and infrastructure sectors. It looked at both the perceived barriers to entry from the perspective of investors, and, from the perspective of the target, how the challenges of cross-border transactions can best be managed.
Michael joined SSEK in 2004 and has more than 20 years of experience practicing law in Southeast Asia, principally in Indonesia. Michael is recognized by Chambers & Partners, The Legal 500, Asialaw and IFLR1000 as a leading practitioner in the fields of banking and finance, corporate/M&A, projects and energy, real estate, and restructuring and insolvency.
