SSEK Donates to Victims of Jakarta Floods

SSEK Donates to Victims of Jakarta Floods
14 February 2020

Heavy overnight rains on January 1, 2020, resulted in widespread flooding in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, and its metropolitan area, killing dozens of people, displacing tens of thousands, and causing billions of rupiah in property damage. SSEK responded to this tragedy in our city by collecting money and goods to assist the flood victims.

Collected goods and cash were distributed to several foundations, as well as orphanages and social institutions in Jakarta that suffered damage in the flooding. We also provided cash to buy blankets, mattresses, diapers, clothing, milk and medicines to be distributed to flood victims.

SSEK employees also donated goods and cash to assist one of our colleagues who lost almost everything in her house to the floodwaters.

“Selfless giving unto others represents one’s true wealth.” The SSEK family extends our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the flooding.
